What is a Credit Union?

Three member portrait icons linked by lines, representing the cooperative membership base.

Credit Unions are member-owned cooperatives...

Credit unions are owned and operated by their members who pool their savings and lend to each other.  Serving members is the reason credit unions exist.

An open hand, with a heart shape hovering above it.

Credit unions are not-for-profit...

There are no outside shareholders; credit unions are owned by the people who save and borrow there.  Earnings are returned to the members in the form of lower rate loans, higher dividends on savings and investments, fewer fees and better service to members.

Credit unions are volunteer driven...

Our volunteer board of directors are elected by and from our membership. The credit union philosophy is “people helping people”.

Simply put - credit unions save you money, help you achieve your financial goals, and give you the kind of service you deserve!
